Disney Studios, Burbank, California

The 45 acre site is the only studio in the Los Angeles area that has stayed in the hands of the founders of the company throughout its life.

Although the studio site was originally conceived as servicing only the company’s animation work (the large animation building is still central to the campus) over the years a number of soundstages have been added to accommodate an increasing complexity of live-action work.

Many of the attractions for the Disneyland park were assembled and tested at the studio before installation in the park.

Soundstages

  • Soundstage 3 was originally built for 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea – the water tank still exists under the floor
