VIP Tram Fire

July 14 1997

A VIP Tour tram caught fire at Six Points Texas on the morning of Monday 14th July. A party of Japanese tourists were removed from the tram after supervisors spotted smoke coming from the right rear wheel of the vehicle. The tram later burst into flames and rolled backwards towards a livery stable set at Six Points and set part of it on fire. A nearby golf cart was also damaged.
Firefighters dealt promptly with the fire and it was extinguished in around 10 minutes. It was estimated the fire caused $150,000 damage to the tram, $100,000 damage to the Six Points sets and $6,000 damage to the golf cart
