The War Room / Command Center at NORAD was built in one of MGM's largest soundstages (believed to be Stage 27). The rear wall of the set consisted of 12 large projection screens each of which had a separate film projector. The projectors all had to be synchronised to each other and to the camera to avoid flickering. The video monitors on the set were also synchronised to the camera shutter, as were large strobe lights. All of the various pieces of equipment were synchronised via an Apple II computer.
