The Glacier Avalanche used the full capability of the Sensurround sound system developed for Earthquake (1974). This system used large bass speakers under the seating in movie theaters so the audience would actually feel the rumbles. In the Glacier Avalanche, the bass speakers added to the disorienting effect of being in a spinning tunnel.
The tunnel was inspired by the Clint Eastwood movie The Eiger Sanction (1975).
Tunnel length: 200 feet (61m)
