Studio(s): - Elstree Studios - MGM Borehamwood

MGM Borehamwood: At the end of the movie, when Stan gets a job as a demolition operative, the brick building he demolishes is the old Stage 06 at MGM Borehamwood, previously used as the base for The Prisoner.

As well as location shooting at such exotic UK holiday spots as;

  • Dyserth Falls at Prestatyn, Wales
  • Gwrych Castle in Abergale, Wales (main part of mystery tour - grounds only shown)
  • Rhyl sea front
  • Rhuddlan in Wales (bridge where suitcases are lost)
the holiday camp shown was Pontins at Pretatyn Sands - Pontins at that site is still open (http://www.pontins.com/holiday-parks/prestatyn-sands/), although it's been refurbished a number of times since 1973!.

The production was based at Elstree Studios, and the final moments of the film show the demolition of a soundstage at the MGM Borehamwood / MGM British Studios. Stage 06, formerly the base for The Prisoner production, is shown being torn down (see below - photo courtesy of Al Samujh)
