Check this out:

From the 1948 Looney Tunes cartoon called 'Scaredy Cat'.

See any similarities?

Almost exactly the same. Look at the front part of the porch. WOW!

Yep- I've seen other generic haunted house illustrations that resembled the Psycho and/or Allison houses many times before, but what really got me with this one was the porch.

Its so similar that I'm wondering if there is an actual connection- in 1948 the Allison house certainly existed, and Warner Bros' was just across the lake from Universal- likely one of the animators had been on the Univ. backlot.

Well, check this out. Someone made a Bates Motel/House for Sims 3, which came out last spring.

I've downloaded the lot, and installed it, and it needs some work, like the house being too wide, for one, lol.

Yeah, the house was new at that point in time. Because of how cool the set looked in So Goes My Love I would not be surprised if someone from Warner's went and looked at it. I mean, the sets were so important that Universal put them in storage and rebuilt exactly as they were originally built when they were placed on the backlot.
