Question was the Psycho House moved in 1981, before the earth movers created the new falls lake area?

Why does inside Universal Art Work still show the psycho house south of falls lake ?
What date?  was Psycho House location changed to its present location.
Any Images from the tour between 1984 and 1988?

The PsychoHouse was indeed removed in 1981. Once re-done it was placed in position for Psycho II and has stayed there ever since. During late 81 and early 82 it was not part of the backlot tour. I have a photo somewhere of the original house location without the chicken ranch in place. The Universal artwork is hardly accurate - there's 2 colonial streets! Thanks for the info Dennis on Airwolf!

[unibacklot][ email message]spanish style motel had the falls lake sky backdrop visable when taking pictures. The motel is in its present location with the " Bate Motel" TV Set.

I recall the house on the plateau south of Falls Lake from when I was a kid but until I saw the continuation of the steps on the Knight Rider stills/ elevation plan of the area, I didn't realize this is where Psycho II was filmed (especially since I do not recall seeing the bits of the motel that were built).

Wasn't the barn built for the 80's comedy DC Cab with Mr. T? Haha.

As for the steps nearest the house today, those were constructed as the steps that lead to the new Bates Mansion for Psycho '98. And it is interesting to see how the house of today isn't positioned correctly in regards to the motel; that being 'one' of the reasons Gus Van Sant chose to build a new mansion. Too bad there aren't many pictures of the new house built in front of the old house out there (other than on the DVD).
