Hi, I was wondering if Pirates of the Caribbean 4 is filming at Pinewood? That's what the rumor is. I it is true, does anyone know if it's going to be in the big underwater set? Has anyone heard anything about this filming?

I just read an article about the future of the James Bond series, because of the problems MGM is having, and it was mentioned that a certain Pirate movie was using the 007 stage during a time when you'd expected it to be used for the new Bond film. So I believe they are or have done some filming at Pinewood. I know that some of these big blockbuster films can be spread over backlots and stages at several differant studios.

Ooooh! That's so exciting! :) Doesn't that 007stage have the gigantic water tank used for underwater filming?

Yes. It has a tank that measures 297 ft by 73 ft by 8 ft 10in. Those are the dimensions of the tank for the original stage. It has burned down twice since it was built, but I believe the tank dimensions stayed the same.

If you go to the gallery section of the 007stage.com link there are some great pictures of the interior of the stage.

Hi John

The Project Pinewood website is at:
http://www.projectpinewood.com/

I think progress is slow due to planning consent problems, but it's still moving forwards (slowly).
I'm hoping to visit in the next few months and will have lots more info then.

Best wishes

Jon

Thanks for the website link. I still think that it's a cool idea of mixed use of an area, as long as the people moving in are aware of some of the inconvinence when filming is being done.
