Yep, Uni Orlando is closing their Jaws ride for good come January 2,2012. Once that happens, you'll have to go to USH to get up close to the man-eater.

Corporate BS...essentially they want to stay fresh & reverent.

Rumours are that it's for an expansion of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter - this new part of the park may contain new immersive areas such as Diagon Alley and may also include a replica Hogwarts Express steam train which will transfer guests around the park towards Hogwarts and Hogsmeade in the Islands of Adventure park....

Good question abovethefirehouse...
If the rumours are true Harry Potter will be taking up a fair amount of Florida real estate.
However, there are still plenty of other attractions at Orlando.

The shift may be more significant at Hollywood where more attractions will be displaced by the boy wizard.
However the appeal of the Potter movies should not be underestimated - hardcore Universal fans will still have the Studio Tour and some live shows. The technology used in the soon to open Transformers ride and the Harry Potter Forbidden Journey will draw families and dark ride fans along with thrill ride fans, and now that 3d isn't the themed environment treat that it used to be, maybe the time has come for Shrek 4D to be withdrawn...
